Protect Your Rights to Use Route 9 through Dobbinsville
Welcome to the Route 9 Coalition
The Route 9 Coalition opposes all of the new changes to trucking using Route 9 proposed by the Study. We also would ask that a further study be done to reconsider the speed limit reductions on Route 9 from route 41 to Grantham.
The Route 9 Coalition was formed to bring a unified voice of all of the Routed 9 businesses that will suffer negative economic consequences from the truck restrictions proposed in the New Castle Truck Study.A Public information was held on January 29th so that those impacted may have an opportunity to understand what was being proposed. While there was the opportunity to informally discuss what was being proposed with the Deldot staff there was no opportunity to speak on the record. There is a Public comment period that is open until where you can make your voice heard. Since we have just recently formed the coalition we have requested that Deldot extend the comment period for 30 additional days. Since Deldot decided to study Route 9 from where it intersects with routes 41 and route 273, to where it intersects with Grantham Lane, we felt that a review and reconsideration of all of the speed limit reductions enacted in recent years is appropriate. We have further suggested that the traffic calming structures in Dobbinsville be removed since it appears that no one supports them
